Who we are

Idus is a subscription app for projects, tasks, notes, group chat and an AI assistant, built and run by the Idus team. This policy covers the Idus app (Android and web, iOS when it arrives) and the Idus website. The operator responsible for your data, and the party you contract with, is named in the Terms.

What we store

Your account: the email address you sign in with, the name you choose, and an optional profile picture. Your content: projects, steps / groups, tasks, notes, goals, chat messages and chat files, plus who you shared each item with. Your settings (language, themes, notification choices) stay on your device. Suggestions you send us are stored with your account.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Your card details go to Paddle, never to us. We only receive the state of your subscription (active, trial, canceled) and the renewal date.

The AI assistant

When you mention @Idus or use the assistant button, your request and the relevant project content (tasks, deadlines, notes you have linked, recent chat messages) are sent to the AI provider Idus uses, currently Google (Gemini), to produce the answer, and actions you ask for run with your own permissions only. One more case has no gesture behind it: if you switch the daily summary on, @Idus writes it, which sends the tasks due today and tomorrow, their projects and the notes linked to them once a day at the hour you chose. Switching the daily summary off stops that. We keep a token-usage ledger to enforce the monthly AI budget. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Profile pictures

A profile picture is optional. If you upload one, it is stored in a bucket served over public links: anyone who has the exact link can view the picture, though nothing in the app shows it to people outside your shared projects. If you have not uploaded a picture, the app asks Gravatar (a service by Automattic) whether one is registered for your email, sending a one-way hash of the address, never the address itself; if none exists, a colored initial is shown instead. Removing your picture in Settings deletes the file.

Crash reports

When the Idus phone app crashes, it sends us a short crash report by itself and says so at the foot of the screen. The report holds the error and the place in the app's code where it happened, the app version, the phone's system and model, the screen size, the page that was open, the app's language and theme, your account id if you were signed in, and a random id made for this installation so that the same crash repeating is counted once. It never holds your notes, tasks, projects, messages or anything you typed. Reports are used only to find and fix faults, and each is deleted 90 days after the crash was last seen; deleting your account removes your account id from them. Idus on the web sends nothing by itself: there, a report leaves only if you choose to send it by email.

Where your data lives

Content syncs to our database and file storage hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Ireland region). A copy stays on your device so the app works offline. In a browser, while you are signed in, the app also leaves one small cookie on idusapp.com that holds no name, address or identifier, only the fact that this browser is signed in, so that the website can take you straight into the app; signing out removes it.

Visits to the website

To know how many people visit idusapp.com, its home page tells our server once per visit that it was opened. The server turns the internet address the visit came from into a scrambled code, mixed with a secret of ours so that it cannot be turned back into the address, and keeps only that code and the day, so that the same visitor is counted once. The address itself is never stored, no cookie is set, nothing is shared with anybody, and the codes are deleted after 13 months. A browser that asks websites not to track it is not counted.

What we never do

No advertising, no selling or renting your data, no tracking beyond what is strictly needed to run the service and the visit count described above.

Sharing

Content you share is visible to the people you invited, with the role you gave them (viewer or editor). Chat files are stored privately and served through short-lived links to project members only.

Your controls

Export your projects, tasks, notes and goals as one file (Settings, Data, "Export my data"); chat messages and chat files stay inside the app. Delete your account and everything it owns, permanently (Settings, Data, "Delete my account and data"), or ask us to do it for you: the whole procedure is on Delete your account. Remove your profile picture or sign out at any time.

Retention

Your content is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting the account removes it right away; residual copies (platform backups, storage and cache layers) are purged on a short delay.

Children

Idus is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will say so in the app or on the website before the change applies. Questions or requests: use the suggestion box in the app (Settings, "Send a suggestion") or write to [email protected].
